A Historical Novel about Family, Love, and Betrayal in the Midst of War

BRIGHTON, ENGLAND - 01/18/2018 — Author Patrick Henderson presents a historical novel set in England in the Second World War that is influenced by certain events in his childhood and the events that led up to and happened during the war.

The Dark Tunnel is a story about family, love, and betrayal and how all of these can bloom in the midst of the tragedy of war. The author relates the lives of three cousins—an English boy, a German boy, and a Dutch girl—and their close relationships with each other. When they begin to grow up and mature, their affections for each other become more complex. An incident in the summer of 1932 leads to tragic repercussions in the Second World War, when they are serving their respective countries.

Readers will not only enjoy Patrick Henderson’s unique and competent writing style, but they will also be enlightened as to what life was like during the Second World War and the issues that plagued young people back then, during a time when the entire world was in an upheaval.
