NEW YORK, NY - 03/19/2018 — New-York based booking app, PBW announced today that it is officially serving all five of New York City’s boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. This marks a huge win for the burgeoning tech startup, which has added more than 500 world-class beauty professionals since its 2016 launch, many of whom are based right in New York.
PBW offers New Yorkers the opportunity to book with stylists, beauticians, nail techs, and wellness experts on a secure, user-friendly platform. Clients can search PBW’s mobile app to find services by location, a provider’s Instagram handle, or their area of expertise. Users also have the option to search for the specific procedure they want done to view the profiles of local service providers.
The arrival of PBW’s booking app comes as populations in all five boroughs continue to grow year-over-year, with The Bronx just 50,000 residents shy of its historical high of 1.47 million people, according to NYC’s Department of City Planning.
The trend for Millennials to rely on pre-screening platforms to find home service providers isn’t just limited to beauty and wellness. According to Investors.com, Millennials are more likely than Gen Xers and previous generations to work with professionals they find through home service sites that vet service providers and publish ratings and reviews of them from other customers.
Millennials are the “social proof” generation. They want a tool that will simplify the decision-making process to save them time and energy, at least when it comes to hiring service providers.
PBW wants to give Millennials and other beauty customers the chance to streamline the notoriously time-consuming process of receiving beauty services by allowing customers to book according to their own schedule and availability instead of relying strictly on the availability of a stylist.
