UNITED KINGDOM - 12/10/2018 — Even though the staff at Vidalux are wondering where 2018 has gone, they’ve obviously been hard at work as their new 2019 brochure is now ready to download and they’re very excited about it.As Krish Thomas explains “We think our new range reflects the most recent developments in client taste and modern technology, while still being aware of the fact that bathroom appliances are investment pieces, so they need to fit in with all kinds of decor as people update their homes from one year to another, in fact from one season to another.”.
New classic shades for new-look bathrooms
“We felt it was about time customers could have appliances in colours other than white.” says Krish Thomas.“We totally understand why people would want to stay away from highly-coloured bathroom appliances, they can be very challenging when you want to update your decor, but there are still options other than white, which is why, as of now, all our showers are available in black and mirror glass options. This includes our existing range.”.
An emphasis on wood-effect materials
“Sadly wood itself is really not suitable for use in showers,” comments Krish Thomas and adds “In fact if you’re still using a traditional shower, you really want to be careful using it anywhere near your shower as traditional showers do have a habit of leaking and if water gets on wood it can do a lot of damage. With modern shower cabins, you’re safe using wood around the shower itself as they are designed to keep all the water (and steam) safely inside the cabin, but you still want to avoid using it inside the cabin. At the same time, people do love the look of wood, which is why we decided to put a wood-effect slatted inset in our shower trays and also to provide a wood effect shower stool as standard.”
Bigger and better showers
“We’re still going to keep producing compact showers,” confirms Krish Thomas “and we still expect them to make up the majority of our sales. We have, however, noticed that now people have completely accepted the idea that a shower can be at least as good as a bath from the point of view of having a really luxurious experience as well as getting yourself clean, some people have started to want bigger showers with more internal space.Basically, for some people the main driver in buying a shower is no longer the need to save space, they could have a bath if they wanted to, but they don’t, they want a luxury shower instead. We’ve created the Selsey Twin and the Tempest Twin with these people in mind.”
The future of bathrooms
“It’s common knowledge that homes are getting smaller”, says Krish Thomas “and so these days, there’s a lot of emphasis on making every little bit of space count. When people think about this, they probably think about making the main rooms flexible and able to support multi-functionality, living rooms which double as spare rooms and dining rooms, bedrooms which are also offices and so on.Then they might think about the kitchen.Have you noticed how kitchens are increasingly also being used as offices and “homework nooks” for children? Now, however, I see people really wanting to maximize the functionality and style of their bathrooms and turn them into home spas and/or home gyms.Purely as my personal opinion, I think this change of approach is already mainstream and is going to become more and more important as the years go by.As you’ve probably guessed all ready, the whole team at Vidalux is very excited to be a part of this.”
