Local Business Bringing Fine Art Murals to Nashville

Uptown Crossing is collaborating with Artist Brian Tull to Create Three New Murals for Their Parking Garage

Uptown Crossing is collaborating with local artist Brian Tull on 3 large-scale murals for their downtown parking garage to be completed by the end of April.

The commission of the murals are in tandem with Uptown Crossings’ efforts to bring art to Nashville. The movement is designed to unify the community with nature and art and attract tourism to improve business in the area. Uptown Crossing accommodates popular restaurants like Five Guys, Jason’s Deli, and Pizza Rev Taproom that already drives a lot of foot traffic from nearby universities and businesses. Residents can also access Synovus, Sun Tan City, DGX, and T-Mobile for all their banking, mobile, and concession needs.

“This collaboration with Brian is very exciting," said Kimberly Eades,  CFP®, CDFATM at Uptown Crossing. “We already have one completed and we can’t wait to see the final result of the other two that are currently in the works! It’s definitely a must-see, and we couldn’t be prouder of the talent Brian is sharing with us and the rest of the community.”

Two of the 3 large-scale murals are paintings from Tull’s collection and one from a reference photo. The composition of all three murals feature cars in different landscapes. Appropriate for their final location in the free parking garage Uptown Underground. The underlying tone from the artwork is reflective of the musical and artistic atmosphere that encompasses a large part of Nashville.

"I’m very appreciative of Uptown Crossings’ art investment in a parking garage,” said the artist, Brian Tull. “For me as an artist, as well as any viewer, it is a very unsuspecting treat. It’s an innovative leap to place fine art murals in a parking garage, then to add gallery lighting to the murals; literally a mural gallery. It’s the first of its kind that I’ve seen, and Uptown Underground is leading the way."

Each mural varies in size, with the largest capping around 11 ft x 50 ft in length. Tull’s painting turned mural, “The Highway Has Always Been Your Lover,” is already complete and can be viewed by tourists and residents in the area. The remaining two should be completed by the end of this month. These murals will be also featured in the First Saturday Art Crawl on an ongoing monthly basis.
