July 12th-14th: New Mexico Tattoo Fiesta

United States, New Mexico, Albuquerque - 06/20/2019 — An Upcoming Event Sponsored By Archetype Tattoo

Albuquerque, NM--From July 12th through 14th, Duke City becomes a mecca for tattoo artists and body art enthusiasts from around the world. The New Mexico Tattoo Fiesta is an all-ages event that kicks off at the Isleta Casino with over 150 booths and over 300 artists, live bands and performances, tattoo artist panels, and competitions for best tattoos.

Sponsored by Archetype Tattoo, this three-day convention is abuzz with the sound of tattoo machines, flowing with locally distilled tequila, and bursting with Southwestern culture featuring live Mariachi music and Aztec Dancers. Guests get to meet tattooists and watch them go to work on their canvases, and even chat up Burlesque dancer and tattoo artist Cervena Fox. One lucky guest can even win a chance to get inked with a graffiti handstyle tattoo by Big Sleeps.

Other heavy hitters in the tattoo industry include black-and-gray master Jack Rudy, Corey Miller of LA Ink, Freddy Negrete, Charlie Cartwright, and Brian Everett to name a few. Events include panelist discussions, live bands, and a memorial dedication to deceased tattoo legends Isaiah “Boo Boo” Negrete, Rick Walters, and Lyle Tuttle whose rock-star clients included Janis Joplin and Paul Stanley.

The New Mexico Tattoo Fiesta’s main event will be a contest for Best Tattoos. Categories include Best Black-and-Grey, Best American Traditional, Best Watercolor, Best Back Pieces, Best Tattooist, and Best Full Body. Awards range from trophies with Dia emblems to even a brand new tattoo machine.

Recently voted “Best of Burque” by the weekly Alibi, Archetype Tattoo sponsors numerous events around ABQ for local charities in an effort to give back to the community. “We always want to lead by example,” says Ben Shaw, owner of Archetype Tattoo. In April, Archetype hosted Art Fusion at Ponderosa Brewing. The event benefited the New Mexico Autism Society and raised up to $3,000.

Located in midtown on Menaul Blvd, Archetype Tattoo is an award-winning parlor, providing carefully crafted body art to Duke City clients and beyond. With artists Eddie Gutierrez, Aldo Gallegos, Carlos Cordova, Meghan Mund, Angelia Santistevan and Chelsey Moore, Archetype Tattoo runs on the principle of ethical practices, community service, impeccable style, and excellent customer satisfaction.
