Pure Mana’s co-founder, Ryno Brandt, is a United States Marine Corps First Sergeant and 16-year Veteran.
After retiring from the military, Brandt found that making the switch to civilian life presented more obstacles than what he experienced during his 16-year service and multiple deployments. His neglected injuries and the mental and physical strain he endured had also left him with chronic pain, extreme PTSD, narcolepsy, and disability.
Brandt relied on multiple prescribed medications and was told to increase his dose when the pills weren’t working for him. He quickly realized it wasn’t sustainable or effective and decided he didn’t want to live dependent on pills.
Although Brandt had heard of CBD, his military and Law Enforcement background made it difficult to overcome the stigma associated with cannabis. When his research led him to understand the physical and mental health benefits of CBD, that it’s non-psychoactive and non-addictive, and that there are no harmful side effects, he began trying CBD products.
