Dr. Doretha Hudspeth selected as Top Counselor of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)
DENTON, TX - 04/30/2018 — Dr. Doretha Hudspeth, Lead Counselor for Texas Virtual School Network & Site Coordinator for Denton High School, was selected as Top Counselor of the Year for 2018 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the field.
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities. All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements.
With over three decades of professional experience in education, Dr. Hudspeth has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success not only as a lead counselor but also when she was volunteering with the educational program and when she was a guidance counselor.Dr. Hudspeth’s key responsibilities are managing Denton High School’s counseling department and working closely with the schools administration.
Dr. Hudspeth earned her Ph.D. at Texas Woman’s University, her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of North Texas. The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, stated “Choosing Dr. Hudspeth for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make.She is talented, bright, and has been a leader in the very competitive education industry.We felt she would make an amazing asset to our organization.We are looking forward to meeting her at the gala and know we will be seeing more amazing things from this woman.”
Throughout her successful career, Dr. Hudspeth remains active in her community and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. For 2018 she is being considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professional) Magazine and for the International Association of Top Professionals “Top Female Executive” Award.For 2017, she was selected as Top Counselor of the Year by IAOTP.For 2014, she was selected as an honored member of the Worldwide Branding and named Outstanding Professional of the Year by Worldwide Who’s Who. She has also been honored by Who’s Who Among American Teachers and has been recognized by the local university for mentoring master’s level counseling interns.Dr. Hudspeth is a member with the Texas Counseling Association, Texas Education Agency and the National Education Association.
Looking back, Dr. Hudspeth attributes her success to her training, her perseverance, mentors she has had along the way, and from the support of her family. For the future, she will continue to grow as a professional and continue to make a difference in people’s lives anyway that she can.When not working she enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.
