Cosmo Tires Sponsored Team Finishes 5th in Class C at the 24 Hours of Lemons Endurance Race at NOLA

Miami - 03/31/2021 — The Cosmo Tires Team Completes the 24 Hours of Lemons Race in 5th Place in their Class, and 25th Overall, Running on Cosmo MuchoMacho Tires.

(Miami, Fla.) – Cosmo Tires, a tire manufacturer of sports, passenger, off-road, light truck, truck, industrial and agricultural tires, recently finished 5th in class at the 24 Hours of Lemons race at the NOLA Motorsports Park in Louisiana. The Cosmo Team’s Number 222 Volkswagen Beetle came in 5th in Class C and 25th overall.

Cosmo Tires is heavily involved in motorsports, sponsoring the Cosmo Tires Autocross Track at PBIR, and the Kool Kat Series Autocross League. Cosmo Tires also sponsor drifting drivers and events, and, of course, endurance racing. Cosmo Tires’ endurance racing footprint includes not only the Volkswagen Beetle but a Team Cosmo Tiger-striped Ford Crown Victoria that competed in a 24-hour endurance event in September of 2020. The 24 Hours of Lemons at NOLA put the Cosmo MuchoMacho tires to another ultimate test via a maximum workload over a prolonged period of time. The MuchoMacho performed very well under grueling race conditions, and held up well from hundreds of laps of the endurance race.

The 24 Hours of Lemons is a fun twist on the endurance racing genre that pits cars purchased and race-prepped in accordance with specific budget and performance guidelines against each other for an ultimate test of holding it together under less than ideal driving conditions. Safety equipment, brakes, tires and roll cages are all a requirement as the competition can get very heated.

"It was a thrill to come in 5th place in our class,” stated Jonathan Brownfield, a Team Cosmo driver and automotive journalist. "The MuchoMachos held up great; they didn’t get greasy when overheated and performed consistently lap after lap.”

Having previous experience with endurance racing, Cosmo Tires were confident of the MuchoMacho performance.

“Our brand is synonymous with Motorsports,” stated Joaquin Gonzalez, President of Cosmo Tires. “Cosmo is about performance, innovation and value; there is no better way to test our tires and innovate than by challenging our engineering in the cauldron of racing. We are very proud of the high finish for our team.”
