BurgerIM Torance Hosts Community Based ReGrand Opening November 24, 2018

TORRANCE, CA - 11/11/2018 — There is a new food Sherrif in town. Marlo Richardson, owner of the Torrance Burgerim Franchise will host a Regrand Opening On November 24th, 2018 from 4pm-9pm. There will be food and drink specials on the menu in addition to free samples of other products. There is a special invitation given to the Torrance Police and Fire Departments. “We want to focus on the community and what better way to do that than to serve the people that serve us?” said Marlo.

BurgerIM Torrance (1441 Knox Street, Suite 500 in Torrance, CA) will host a community-based RE-Grand Opening on November 24, 2018, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm.  The event will include food specials and cocktails by Lady on the Rocks.  The franchise owner, Marlo Richardson has had her share of firsts this year.  She recently celebrated becoming the first Black Woman to become the Chair of the Contractor’s License Board for the State of California, appointed by Governor Jerry Brown in 2015.  Now, she is taking on a new role as the owner of the first Burgerim Franchise in Torrance, California.  The location is currently open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, but plans to extend its hours, focus more on service to the community, and add libations to the menu.

Marlo has a background in public service and is looking forward to establishing partnerships within the City of Torrance.  Marlo says, “Some of the best relationships are built over a meal.  In today’s environment, time is always an issue, and so is food quality.  We (at BurgerIM) want to conquer the best of both worlds by focusing on the fast-casual dining experience, quality food products, and catering services to our business and residential community”,

According to the Franchise Business Review,  Black owners make up less than 3 percent of franchise ownership.  We spoke to Marlo about how she became interested in franchising and business ownership and she said:

“I have always been an entrepreneur.  There is just something about being able to lead people and give others opportunities that inspired me to want to be a decision maker.  I’ve had some bad managers in my professional career.  So, to be in a position where I can give opportunities, mentor, and help others to be successful invigorates me; I feel that is my purpose in life.  Burgerim was a franchise that I watched for a while before making the purchase.  They have a very unique concept, several types of patties, wings, salads, and the milkshakes are incredible... there is something for everyone.  I also like the fast-casual dining concept.”

Marlo got her first taste of the restaurant industry in 2010 when she owned Berri’s Pizza, the home of the famous Lobster Pizza in Playa del Rey.  “That was the best time of my life.  It was a place where my friends, family, and neighbors came to celebrate and socialize”, said Marlo.

When we asked Marlo her goals for the future of the restaurant franchise, she said: “The goal is to open locations throughout the Los Angeles area and maybe other areas”.  But, she did not elaborate on specific locations other than she had a few locations in mind.

BurgerIM, means “many burgers,” in Hebrew.  The chain sells mini burgers made with 3-ounce patties, which are larger than a typical slider.  Guests can choose 11 types of patties including the merguez (spicy beef), falafel, wagyu beef, veggie, and salmon. It also serves chicken wings, salads, and soft drinks.

Bursting with flavor, BurgerIM gourmet burgers apply a unique approach to kicking all of your cravings in one meal.  Choose from an uno, duo, trio, or 16 pack of our gourmet patties and customize each one.  With a variety of buns, signature sauces, mouthwatering patties, and flavorful toppings, your BurgerIM order is custom tailored to satisfy all that you crave.

BurgerIM was founded by Dana Tuchner an Isreali native who went to culinary school in New York.  According to the BurgerIM Website, the initial franchise investment ranges from $202,850-$597,500.  Burgerim currently has over 200 locations in 16 countries.
